I’ve been slowly working on this business for a year. To be honest, I just haven’t had the motivation. There have been too many other things going on. The main idea is that it’s edgy t-shirts and apparel for different crowds of people. There will be super science nerdy themed shirts, and some political based things as well to start.
I have a lot of the design concepts, but only a few of the designs so far. The design work shouldn’t take more than a week. I still have to find the best print on demand solution at first. After I figure out what sells it will be time to take those designs and start shifting them over to bulk printing. No matter what anyone says, 3rd party print on demand for shirts is a money loser. We’re moving in the next few months, and I’ve been wondering if I shouldn’t wait for the launch until closer to the move. That way we can figure out a way to do print on demand at home in whatever workshop we set up or build. I’d have to run the numbers, but is it any more cost effective to print on demand at home considering the costs of the machines and the time it would take to do the work? When would I find the time if I’m working a FT job too? So many questions. So few answers.
So, with all the other things, I’m moving forward with this. I hope it doesn’t fall by the wayside like most of this blog.
